IndependenceFirst is Metro Milwaukee's FIRST resource when people have questions regarding access and disability. We offer over 20 Programs & Services to people with disabilities of all kinds, in all age groups and provide programs on disability awareness, employment tips and access to the general community. Over 50% of our staff, managers and Board have disabilities themselves and this peer approach leads to excellent outcomes.

How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Over half of our staff, management and Board have disabilities themselves. We annually survey our consumers and get input on programs we provide and those that are not provided to take into consideration to meet their needs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We serve the four-county Metro Milwaukee area primarily, with our main office in Milwaukee. A few of our programs are statewide e.g. Wisloan, Telework, WI AODA program for Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing. Our Mobility Store locations are in Wauwatosa at 3720 N. 124th St. (414-988-5333) and in Madison at 2554 Advance Rd.
